So who's it gonna be?
Good show. I was at least mildly entertained throughout, but the music only really got through to me on a couple of occasions. Brett, James and Casey are definitely my top picks for the night. I'd be VERY surprised if all three of them didn't make it through the next round. Have fun voting everyone!
Jacob Lusk
I didn't like his choice of song for reasons of personal taste, but I've got to admit he's got a fairly good voice. It took me about halfway through the song to convince me of it, though. Could have started off with better energy to catch my attention.
Awesome growl! And love that cocky ending.
In my oppinion, Casey is the best singer of the night. Maybe it's just because I love that soulful sound, but he completely convinced me. Intoxicating voice full of fire. I enjoyed every second of it, but especially those growls and high notes. And that ending with the look right at the camera... So sexy. I gotta hear more for this guy. I hope he goes far.
Loosing energy...but still solid
Paul started off strong, but I could feel him losing energy throughout. I started to feel a little unstable watching his wobbly shuffling around the stage. Maybe the judges think it's "unique", but I'm not quite buying it.
Still a pretty solid performance, though. His voice has a very different quality than any of the other contestants. A little more high buzz and nasal tone than we're used to, but not in an unpleasant way at all. That's what he's got going for himself at present. Like JLo said, his smile is one of the best things about him as well. It's quite infectious in the best of ways.

Convincing cover
I was a little worried about Stefano at the start because of his song choice. "Just the Way You Are" is a pop standard that's still all over the radio. It takes a lot to convince fans of the original song to vote for a cover like that, but I think he did just that for a lot of people. That one high note on "aaaaaare!" was shaky, but I can let it go in light of the rest of his performance.
I finally agree with randy
Stefano, is totally marketable. Very cute! I can tell he will be sucsessful whether or not he moves on to the next round!
Solid Country Scotty
Love that rich, deep voice. I'm not a fan of country music, but his sonrous tone has won me over on this one. He's not afraid to sing just straight down-home country because that's what he loves. I like that.
Robbie the would-be heart throb
Felt a littler nervous for him on the high notes. Randy's right about sliding around on the pitches too much. For 16 years old, he's looking and sounding pretty good. He's also got that charming would-be hearthrob look about him that will probably win over some of the teenage girls watching.
LI's very own Robbie Rosen
Not going to lie, I'm from long island about ten minutes away from Robbie and i have received endless texts and bbms to vote for him. Long Island loves him, Hopefully America will too. I can criticize this so much since I'm prejudiced.
Scream your heart out!!!
James was totally in the zone on this one. Very gutsy to do Judas Priest in front of the whole nation. I love the high notes straight from his gut at the very end. And the jumping around on stage didn't seem out of place either. I'm not nervous for this guy at all. He's gonna go far.
James Durbin
WOW that was amazing Judas Priest on Idol! LOVED it. It was totally his own and he really worked it. I think hell definately be in the next round!
Hard act to follow
Brett was totally enjoying himself up there on stage. A natural performer. I love Jim Morrison's original recording of this song. Very hard to follow, but Brett infused it with his own style. I wasn't so sure about him when I first saw him, but this kid's got my attention. I'll be watching him closely from now on. He'll definitely make it to the next round.
Wrong song
I agree with the judges. He sang it well, but it wasn't the right song. I admire the way he stuck with it afterwards, though. Didn't appologize for it one bit. I can respect that even if I didn't really enjoy his singing.
Brett Lowenstern
From the looks of him he doesn't seem to showcase such star potential, but his shaking and hair whipping really added to the performance. LOVED the vocals, He's got me hooked!
Jordan Dorsey
Yet another bad cover. From the very begining, he was off tempo. Then his pitch was off on the high notes. He was trying too hard. Got distracted by all his dance moves. He was out of his natural element in a very bad way. I just hope he'll get through this round to show us what he can really do.
New Usher? Think not.
I don't know what is actually worse the gospel choir singing usher's OMG, or this wanna be usher contestant. If you can't out do usher you shouldn't even attempt to sing his song. TERRIBLE.
Jovany Barreto
I'm with Randy on this one. He looks pretty uncomfortable on stage. Definitely nervous. Sweet voice, sweet guy, but I didn't see any charisma shine through on this performance. Nothing different to catch my interest.
Jovany Barreto
I may have a crush on this stud, who just showcased his vocals in an amazing performance tonight. I have no idea what Randy Jackson is criticizing, Randy Jackson you are just "OK".
Clint Jun Gamboa
I'm not sure about those glasses, but boy does this kid have the voice to make me (almost) forget about them. He's got a lot of soul. Something I'd want to listen to over and over. Definitely marketable. I get the feeling he could be really versatile in the music biz in general. Clint's only trouble is going to be finding his musical niche. I doubt it, but maybe he's one of the rare ones that doesn't need a niche.
Love his name too. Exotic, but in a way that just rolls off the tongue.

Oh Clint...
You are already most viewers least favorite male. I am not a fan of your Superstitious cover, If this is great singing according to the judges I am a little scared of whats to come.
